Recap: Peebles Indians vs. Whiteoak Wildcats
The Peebles Indians came tearing into Thursday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 57-39 win over Whiteoak. For Peebles, this counts as revenge for the 39-38 loss Whiteoak walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Peebles' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Payton Johnson led the charge by scoring 22 points along with seven rebounds. The game was Johnson's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Caydence Carroll, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Peebles' win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for Whiteoak, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Peebles will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Green at 7:30 p.m. on January 10th. As for Whiteoak, they will take on Fayetteville-Perry at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Fayetteville-Perry focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Thursday.
