Basketball Recap: Dillyn Prescott and Elianna Weiss Secure Win for Mercer Island

Mercer Island waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 59-52 win over Varsity Opponent. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 57-27 last Friday.

Mercer Island was led to victory by Elianna Weiss and Dillyn Prescott. Weiss posted 15 points, while Prescott had eight points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists. Weiss' afternoon made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Clara Stowe, who put up six points and ten rebounds.

Mercer Island smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in eight consecutive games.

Mercer Island's record now sits at 3-6.

Mercer Island didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-45 loss against Shorecrest on the 30th. As for Varsity Opponent, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 53-46 defeat against Riverview Sarasota on the 28th.
