Softball Recap: Juanita's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Skyline, Juanita was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Lake Washington Kangaroos. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Ravens as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Elliott Parker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Josie Peeler was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Molly Benson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Peeler wasn't the only one making solid contact: Juanita kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Washington only managed five hits.

The win got Juanita back to even at 6-6. As for Lake Washington, their defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Juanita will challenge Newport - Bellevue at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. The Ravens' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 10.2 runs per game this season. As for Lake Washington, they will take on Tahoma at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
