Basketball Recap: Orr's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against DRW College Prep, Orr was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 45-35 victory over the DuSable Panthers. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Spartans as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Orr to victory, but perhaps none more so than Maurkalen Jones, who went 5 of 10 en route to 15 points and three steals. Jones continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Damarion Johnson, who posted 13 points and three steals.

The victory got Orr back to even at 5-5. As for DuSable, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.

Orr wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 38-35 win against Chicago Military Academy on the 27th. As for DuSable, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Catalyst-Maria on the 28th.
