Softball Recap: Aberdeen Triumphs

Aberdeen came out on top against Leake Central on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run second inning. The Bulldogs skirted past the Gators 7-6.

Chyra Ford and Jatori Johnson did most of the damage at the plate: Ford went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one RBI, while Johnson went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Jayla Riddle, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI.

Aberdeen was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .625. Their batting average was a full 0 higher than the also-impressive .400 that Leake Central posted.

The victory got Aberdeen back to even at 1-1. As for Leake Central, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Coincidentally, Aberdeen and Leake Central will both be playing Louisville the next time they take the field. The Gators will host the Wildcats at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the Bulldogs will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
