Walnut Grove waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 63-53 victory over the Sherman Bearcats. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 64th, while the Bearcats are ranked 353rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Walnut Grove has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.1 points per game. As for Sherman, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.

As for Sherman, they will be taking part in a tournament against Rockwall at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday.
