Softball Recap: Alcoa Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Victory

Alcoa had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.6 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They walked away with a 7-2 win over the Tazewell Bulldogs. This was a revenge game for the Tornadoes: when they faced off against the Bulldogs back in March, they had to take a 12-6 loss.

The team relied heavily on Grayson Burgess, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Dylan Jablonski was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Alcoa's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 26-6-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games. As for Tazewell, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-4.

Coming up, Alcoa will venture away from home to square off against Lebanon at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Tazewell, they will play host again on Saturday to welcome Powell, where first pitch is scheduled at 12:30 p.m.
