Baseball Recap: West Memphis Christian Starts Season with Loss on the Road

West Memphis Christian kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Independence Wildcats by a score of 7-5. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.

West Memphis Christian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Deagan Davis, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

The victory made it two in a row for Independence and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Coming up, West Memphis Christian will venture away from home to square off against Memphis Home Education Association at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Independence, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Wildcats face off against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
