Flag Football Recap: Harris County Tigers vs. Milton Eagles
Harris County had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 12-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Milton Eagles on Monday. Despite 51 more yards than the Eagles, the Tigers couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
Madalynn Cauley and Kaydence Jenkins certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Cauley threw for 143 yards and one TD, while Jenkins picked up 53 receiving yards and one touchdown. Cauley also deserves a shoutout for her performance on D, making two total tackles and defending three passes.
While Harris County came up short, they sure didn't make it easy for Milton: they limited their QB to completion percentage of just 36%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Kyndle Robinson and Cauley, who each logged three passes deflected. Harris County wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 64.3%.
Harris County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Robinson.
The critical scores for Milton came from Alana Calhoun and Alliyah Holmes.
Harris County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 36-0 victory against Bowdon on the 4th. As for Milton, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 25-2 win against Newton on the 1st.
