Basketball Game Preview: Whitesburg Christian Academy Warriors vs. Grissom Tigers

The Whitesburg Christian Academy Warriors will take on the Grissom Tigers in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Whitesburg Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully Grissom likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, Whitesburg Christian Academy made easy work of Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering and carried off a 67-41 victory. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 26 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Grissom came up short against Buckhorn on Monday and fell 46-38. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while the Bucks are ranked 24th).

Whitesburg Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.4 points per game. As for Grissom, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Whitesburg Christian Academy came up short against Grissom when the teams last played back in November, falling 57-45. Can Whitesburg Christian Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
