Softball Recap: Swanton Comes Up Short

Fans were treated to a battle of the Bulldogs on Saturday. Swanton fell 10-6 to Edgerton. Swanton has struggled against Edgerton recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Alexa Faber was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Faber wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Lacey Shinaver, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Swanton's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Edgerton, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

Coming up, Swanton will welcome Bryan at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Bears have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Edgerton, they will head out to take on Pettisville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
