Soccer Game Preview: Granite Hills vs. Central

The Granite Hills Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Central Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Granite Hills will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Last Wednesday, Granite Hills was able to grind out a solid victory over Brawley, taking the game 3-1. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly two goals.

Meanwhile, Central hasn't lost a match since January 24th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 6-0 margin over Francis Parker. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won 12 matches by three goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Francis Parker from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Miguel Vega led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Granite Hills pushed their record up to 14-8 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 29 goals over those six contests. As for Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-2 record this season.

Granite Hills came up short against Central in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 2-0. Can Granite Hills avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
