Evergreen Park came tearing into Friday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Argo Argonauts by a score of 3-0. Give the Mustangs' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Michael Rodriguez tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Evergreen Park saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carlos Flores, who went 1-for-2 with one run. Yarim Garcia was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Evergreen Park's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-9. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Argo, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-21 record this season.
