Football Recap: West York Area Piles Up the Points Against Dover

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West York Area). They blew past the Dover Eagles 50-7 on Friday. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-7.

West York Area got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jensen Ferber out in front who threw for 255 yards and five touchdowns on only 15 passes. That's the most passing touchdowns Ferber has posted since back in September. Julius Madden did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 148 receiving yards.

West York Area's run defense was locked in: Dover could only muster 1.8 yards per carry. The team can thank Logan Boyer for the heroic effort on defense: he. Sadly, that's becoming something of a trend for West York Area; they were averaging 4.4yards per carry per game earlier this season, but in their last three games they've fallen to only 4 per game.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for West York Area, racking up 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Madden, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

The victory made it two in a row for West York Area and bumps their season record up to 9-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 14 points in those games. As for Dover, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.
