Basketball Recap: Cottonwood Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Cottonwood can now relate to. They were dealt a 61-25 defeat at the hands of the Providence Christian Eagles on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 230th, while the Eagles are ranked 101st).

Cottonwood's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Providence Christian, their win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-6.

Cottonwood will venture away from home to face off against Abbeville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Abbeville will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Cottonwood surely won't give up without a fight. Providence Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
