Football Game Preview: Springfield Yellow Jackets vs. Lexington Tigers + Official Tickets

The Springfield Yellow Jackets will host the Lexington Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Springfield is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.

Springfield is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They blew past Creek Wood, posting a 35-7 win. Considering the Yellow Jackets have won seven contests by more than 19 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Kason Woodson produced another solid effort throwing for 218 yards and three touchdowns on only 16 passes, while also punching in one TD on the ground. That's the most passing yards he has posted since back in September.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Springfield's defense and their four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.

Meanwhile, Lexington posted their closest victory since September 26, 2024 on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Haywood 25-22.

Springfield better keep an eye on Amarion Arnold. He was instrumental in Lexington's win, rushing for 140 yards and one score while picking up 7.4 yards per carry.

Springfield's record now sits at 10-1. As for Lexington, their record is now 8-3.

Everything went Springfield's way against Lexington in their previous matchup back in November of 2019, as Springfield made off with a 31-7 win. Will the Yellow Jackets repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
