Baseball Game Preview: Prairie Hawks vs. Xavier Saints

The Prairie Hawks will venture away from home to square off against the Xavier Saints at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Prairie's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Xavier's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Prairie and Washington meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Hawks came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 7-3. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Xavier earned a 6-1 win over Iowa City on Friday.

Prairie's record now sits at 12-1. As for Xavier, their record is now 11-8.

Prairie couldn't quite finish off Xavier when the teams last played back in June of 2024 and fell 6-4. Can the Hawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
