Baseball Recap: Hilltop Cadets vs. Fort Wayne Crusaders

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Ayersville, Hilltop was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They had just enough and edged Fort Wayne Crusaders out 9-7.

Cameron Schlosser was incredible, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Brady Wagner, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.

Hilltop pushed their record up to 1-1 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs per game. As for Fort Wayne Crusaders, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Hilltop will head out on the road to challenge North Central at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Fort Wayne Crusaders, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Indy Genesis HomeSchool at 12:00 p.m. on April 20th.
