The Calumet Christian Patriots will head out on the road to take on the Whiting Oilers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Calumet Christian's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four matchups.
Calumet Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against Westville by a score of 20-17 on Thursday. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Blackhawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Jackson Gary made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Calumet Christian's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-4 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Mateo Piquion was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Calumet Christian is 2-1 when Piquion posts two or more runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Sam Thursby, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Calumet Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .537 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Whiting can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They blew past Calumet New Tech 16-3. Considering the Oilers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
The win got Calumet Christian back to even at 4-4. As for Whiting, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-6.
