Basketball Recap: Skyline Falcons vs. Horizon Hawks

Skyline played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Horizon Hawks 72-39. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 170th, while the Hawks are ranked 12th).

Martinez-Hernandez went 7 for 12 on his way to 17 points and three steals, while McCray posted 11 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. McCray has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played.

Noah Sokolowski was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 16 boards for Horizon. Aiden Greene was another key player, going 7 of 9 en route to 16 points and five rebounds.

Skyline's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Horizon, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-2.

Skyline will look to defend their home court on Friday against Mead at 7:00 p.m. Skyline is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.1 points per game this season. As for Horizon, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 84-69 defeat against Chaparral on the 5th.
