Softball Recap: Pickering Comes Up Short

Pickering was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 15-2 to the Rosepine Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 back in March.

Pickering saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alayna Yates, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-2. Yates is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games she's played.

Pickering's record is now 4-12. As for Rosepine, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-12 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pickering will challenge Vinton on Thursday. As for Rosepine, they will face off against East Beauregard at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
