Mount Vernon fell victim to Pittsburg and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Pirates, falling 3-0.

Meanwhile, Paris hadn't done well against Pleasant Grove recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Paris never let Pleasant Grove onto the board and left with a 2-0 win. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 180th, while the Hawks are ranked 597th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Olivia Gonzalez and Caroline Gillem scored both of Paris' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 16 goals.

Mount Vernon's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Paris, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2-1.
