Volleyball Recap: Sharyland Beats Cigarroa for Their Third Straight Win

Sharyland entered their tilt with Cigarroa on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Toros. The Rattlers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Toros, too.

Sharyland had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 16-25, 25-3, 15-7.

Sharyland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jayleen Berlanga led the charge by getting 17 assists and three aces. That's the most aces Berlanga has posted over her last eight contests. Another player making a difference was Renata Cantu, who had ten kills.

Sharyland's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Cigarroa, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.

Sharyland wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Anderson on the 23rd. As for Cigarroa, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Akins on the 23rd.
