League recap: Sprague extends winning streak with victory over North Salem

6A Central Valley recap October 22, 2013

Sprague extended the longest winning streak in 6A Central Valley this week by beating North Salem, 55-27. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.

McNary took down McKay 48-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. hayden gosling threw for 128 yards and 2 touchdowns in the win.

Thomas Harris was a passing and rushing force as Sprague bested the Vikings. Harris' favorite target this week was Bryce Johnson, who caught 2 passes for 50 yards.

Jorge Garibay was the best receiver in the league this week as the Scots fell to the Celtics. Garibay racked up 4 receptions for 79 yards. Logan Dickey helped McKay's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 65 yards.

The leading receiver in the league this season is Devin Rediger. The Sprague star has 29 catches for 473 yards.

Next week's game between McKay and Jay Minyard's team will feature a good passing match up as Sam Harris will test his arm against Rediger's defensive ability. So far this year Brett Rhodes' team's Harris has 1,512 yards and 11 touchdowns to his credit, while Rediger has notched 5 interceptions for the Olympians.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when West Salem takes on McNary. The Titans are currently in first, while Isaac Parker's team is in third.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when West Salem takes on the Celtics. Shawn Stanley's team has allowed 191 points this season, while McNary has given up 207.

Sprague led 6A Central Valley in scoring this week by notching 55 points on North Salem. Harris ran for 196 yards during the win.
