Preview: Imani Christian Academy Saints vs. Mohawk Area Warriors
Imani Christian Academy has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Mohawk Area Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Imani Christian Academy blew past Waynesburg Central, posting a 52-14 win at home. That's two games straight that Imani Christian Academy has won by exactly 38 points.
Meanwhile, while Mohawk Area put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Burrell. Mohawk Area breezed by Burrell at home to the tune of 42-0. Given Mohawk Area's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 195th, while Burrell is ranked 422nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was Justin Boston, who rushed for 149 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Dante Retort also helped out with an impressive 83 receiving yards.
Imani Christian Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 41 points. As for Mohawk Area, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.
