Softball Recap: Cypress Springs Comes Up Short

While it was Cypress Springs who put the first points on the board on Friday, it was Cypress Woods who put up more. The Cypress Springs Panthers lost 16-1 to the Cypress Woods Wildcats. The Panthers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Aleyah Martin was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Cypress Springs and nudges their season record down to 1-6-1. As for Cypress Woods, the victory got them back to even at 9-9-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cypress Springs will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Waller at 6:00 p.m. on March 21st. After both having extra time off, Cypress Woods and Cypress Ranch will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field one another at 6:00 p.m. on March 18th. Cypress Ranch's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Cypress Woods' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
