Basketball Game Preview: Stafford Indians vs. Mountain View Wildcats

Stafford hasn't had much luck against Mountain View recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Stafford Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mountain View Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. Mountain View took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Stafford, who comes in off a win.

Stafford took a loss when they played away from home back in December of 2024, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Massaponax by a score of 40-27.

Stafford found their leader in freshman Olivia Ferguson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds. Ferguson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last five games she's played. Carrie Burton was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Stafford smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in nine consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Mountain View came up short against Brooke Point on Wednesday and fell 48-39.

Stafford now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Mountain View, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

Stafford came up short against Mountain View in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 40-28. Can Stafford avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
