Basketball Recap: Z John Williams' Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to 12

Z John Williams put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down the Chief Ivan Blunka Eagles 66-47. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Alaska basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Eagles are ranked 90th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Z John Williams found their leader in freshman Adalyn Samuelson, who posted 28 points. Hilary Larson was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Z John Williams' victory was their 11th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.6 points over those games. As for Chief Ivan Blunka, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Z John Williams didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-54 defeat against Scammon Bay on the 7th. As for Chief Ivan Blunka, they will head out on the road to take on Newhalen at 6:00 p.m. on February 13th.
