Volleyball Recap: Conroe Takes a Loss

Conroe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Grand Oaks Grizzlies. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Grizzlies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Conroe took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-16, 25-19.

Their offense was headlined by Ella Pina and Bentleigh Spikes, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Brayla Bradley and her eight assists. Spikes also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Talia Padilla, each putting up two.

Leading Grand Oaks to victory were Kayla Aranda and Julia Flessas. Aranda had 23 assists and three digs, while Flessas had seven digs and two aces. That's the most assists Aranda has posted since back in August.

Conroe's loss dropped their record down to 17-22. As for Grand Oaks, their win was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 30-8.

Conroe has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Willis on the 14th. As for Grand Oaks, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Oak Ridge on the 14th.
