Baseball Recap: Amery Takes a Loss

Amery lost against Prescott on Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Warriors fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 6-5. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gavin Humpal made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Amery's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is 2-1 (and 6-8 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Valdin Anderson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Amery now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Prescott, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

Amery didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-2 victory against Turtle Lake/Clayton on the 9th. As for Prescott, they will challenge Elk Mound at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Mounders will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something the Cardinals surely won't give up without a fight.
