Softball Recap: Spanish Springs Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Win

Spanish Springs entered their tilt with Reno on Monday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They never let the Huskies get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-0 on Monday.

Chloe Schuler looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Charli York was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Kacyn Gifford, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and three RBI.

Spanish Springs always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .630. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Reno only posted an OBP of .000.

Spanish Springs' win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-7-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Reno, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 19 of their last 20 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 1-26-1 record this season.

Spanish Springs will head out on the road to square off against Damonte Ranch at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Reno, they will challenge Reed at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
