Recap: Banks Academy Jets vs. Evangel Christian Lightning
This season hasn't been kind to the Banks Academy Jets, who are still winless after their sixth matchup. They took a serious blow against Evangel Christian on Thursday, falling 53-23. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Banks Academy in their matchups with Evangel Christian: they've now lost four in a row.
Evangel Christian can attribute much of their success to Hannah Benson, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Bullock, who scored eight points.
Banks Academy bumped their record down to 0-6 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Evangel Christian, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-3.
Banks Academy is on the road again on Thursday and play against Evangel Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 4th. Hopefully Evangel Christian is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Banks Academy in Alabama (Evangel Christian is ranked 167th, while Banks Academy is ranked 434th). As for Evangel Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Banks Academy at 6:00 p.m.
