            Baseball Recap: Coconino Panthers vs. Mohave Thunderbirds        
        
		
        
        
            Coconino not only won  on Monday, but they posted their biggest win  since February 27th. They were the clear victors by  a  13-3 margin over the Mohave Thunderbirds. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Thunderbirds, too.

 Coconino let  Ty Sevier and  Corbin Derr run wild. Sevier  fired off two  home runs and four  RBI while  getting on base  in all five of his plate appearances, while  Derr  went 3-for-4 with one  home run, three  runs,  and four  RBI. Derr is becoming a predictor of Coconino's success: when he posts  at  least two  runs the team is 2-1 (and 3-8-1 when he doesn't).  Steven Stone was another key player,  going 3-for-4 with three  runs and three  doubles.
Coconino moved to 5-9-1 with that  win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Mohave, they dropped their record down to 5-12 with the  loss, which was their fourth straight  on the road.
 Coconino didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  game,  a  4-2  defeat against Cactus Shadows on the 3rd. Hopefully Mohave payed attention to the Panthers'  matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Panthers  at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday.
