Basketball Recap: Wood River Eagles vs. Thayer Central Titans

If Wood River was riding high fresh off their 55-32 takedown of Kenesaw last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wood River Eagles took a 66-49 bruising from the Thayer Central Titans on Tuesday.

Sam Souerdyke was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 30 points and ten boards for Thayer Central. The match was Souerdyke's seventh in a row with at least 19 points. Another player making a difference was Laken Wiedel, who posted ten points.

Wood River's defeat dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Thayer Central, their victory bumped their record up to 16-7.
