Basketball Game Preview: Simpson Academy Cougars vs. Starkville Academy Volunteers

The Simpson Academy Cougars will face off against the Starkville Academy Volunteers at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Simpson Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Starkville Academy likes a good challenge.

On Saturday, Simpson Academy beat Leake Academy 63-56.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Starkville Academy). They put the hurt on Columbus Christian Academy with a sharp 73-47 win on Tuesday.

Simpson Academy's victory bumped their record up to 20-1. As for Starkville Academy, their win bumped their record up to 17-8.

Simpson Academy strolled past Starkville Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a score of 49-33. The rematch might be a little tougher for Simpson Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
