Basketball Recap: Obion County Takes a Loss

If Obion County was feeling good fresh off their 57-33 takedown of Lake County last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Obion County Rebels were outmatched by the Westview Chargers and fell 70-27. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 147th, while the Chargers are ranked seventh).

Mccall Sims was her usual excellent self, putting up 17 points for Westview. Sims is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Halle Trevathan was another key player, posting eight points.

Obion County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-5 record this season. As for Westview, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 14-1.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Dyersburg the next time they take the court. Westview will head out to face Dyersburg at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Obion County will host them at 6:00 p.m. on January 14th.
