Recap: Bunker Hill Bears vs. East Rutherford Cavaliers

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Bunker Hill Bears walked away with it. They took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 61-7 victory over East Rutherford. The win was just business as usual for Bunker Hill, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.

Bunker Hill got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jason Willis jr out in front who rushed for 198 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries, and also picked up 44 receiving yards. Willis jr's longest rush was for an incredible 75 yards. Another player making a difference was Redek Robinson, who threw for 320 yards and five touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes.

Bunker Hill's victory was their 12th straight at home (dating back to last season), which pushed their record up to 11-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-10 West Caldwell and 3-7 Freedom (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 42.3% over those games). As for East Rutherford, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Bunker Hill will be playing at home against Burns at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Burns is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. East Rutherford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
