Baseball Recap: Esperanza Gets the Win

While Esperanza's win against South East wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Aztecs skirted past the Jaguars 8-7.

Esperanza got a great performance from Connor Forshee as he pitched 6.2 innings while giving up five earned runs off five hits.

At the plate, Andrew Sesma was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Tungsten DeArte, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two doubles.

Esperanza kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 6-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Esperanza's victory bumped their record up to 13-11. As for South East, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Esperanza will host Troy at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for South East, they will square off against Garfield at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last four games the Bulldogs have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
