Football Recap: Strong Effort on D from Santiago Aceves Villanueva and Brayden Murray Leads Wakefield over Lewis + How To Watch

Wakefield won the last time they faced Lewis and things went their way on Friday too. The Warriors strolled past the Lancers with points to spare, taking the game 34-20. The Warriors' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Among those leading the charge was Judah Connor, who rushed for 89 yards and one TD, and also threw for 149 yards and one touchdown. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in September of 2024. Andrew Mason got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Wakefield didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Santiago Aceves Villanueva and Brayden Murray. Sean Perry was another major factor on D, forcing one fumble and making ten total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Wakefield now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Lewis, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Wakefield will face off against Justice at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lewis, they will take on Alexandria City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
