Baseball Game Preview: Fremont Silverwolves vs. Farmington Phoenix

For the second straight game, Fremont will face off against Farmington. The Silverwolves will head out to challenge the Phoenix at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Fremont has three straight victories, Farmington has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Fremont is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Farmington 16-6 on Tuesday. The Silverwolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by seven runs or more this season.

Chase Jones was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). Jones was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Owen Simkins, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kasen Pearson, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Fremont kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matchups.
