Middle Creek extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from George Daniels. It took a bit of extra time, but the Mustangs secured a 68-65 victory against the Southeast Alamance Stallions in overtime on Tuesday thanks in part to Daniels: he posted 24 points and three steals. Daniels' evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points.

Southeast Alamance lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Davian Edwards, who shot 53% from the field on his way to 21 points and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was James Kenan, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds.

Middle Creek's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Southeast Alamance, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Middle Creek will square off against Sanderson at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th. As for Southeast Alamance, they will challenge Western Alamance at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Stallions will be up against the Warriors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 50.57 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
