Softball Recap: Freedom's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Freedom extended their postseason success on Friday against Del Norte. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Warriors. The win was familiar territory for the Falcons, who have now won four matchups in a row.

Riley Moon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jaiden Proctor, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Yasmeen Sanchez, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Freedom kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 14 hits in four consecutive contests.

Freedom's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-9-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Del Norte, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-4.

Coming up, Freedom will venture away from home to challenge Alhambra at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Falcons surely won't give up without a fight. Del Norte does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
