Basketball Recap: Morgan Makes It Five in a Row at Home

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Morgan had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 42-27 victory over the Thomaston Bears. Given the Huskies' advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Bears are ranked 113th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Morgan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sadie Passante, who went 7-for-16 to rack up 16 points along with five assists and five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Passante has scored at least a third of Morgan's points. Another player making a difference was Emma Teuner, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 boards.

Morgan's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-5. As for Thomaston, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Morgan will welcome Hale Ray at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Thomaston does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
