Baseball Game Preview: Westside Rams vs. Emerald Vikings

For the second straight game, Westside will face off against Emerald. The Rams will be playing in front of their home fans against the Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

If Westside beats Emerald with seven runs on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Rams came out on top against the Vikings by a score of 7-4 on Wednesday. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Peyton Milford was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Milford was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Westside's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-8 when he doesn't).

Milford wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brody Caudle, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Noah Pate was another, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

The victory got Westside back to even at 8-8. As for Emerald, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11.
