Basketball Game Preview: Yellville-Summit Panthers vs. Valley Springs Tigers

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Yellville-Summit Panthers face off against the Valley Springs Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday... Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Yellville-Summit took a blow against Melbourne, falling 63-36. The matchup marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Valley Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 46-44 heartbreaker at the hands of Flippin. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while the Bobcats are ranked 28th).

Valley Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Yellville-Summit, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.

Yellville-Summit ended up a good deal behind Valley Springs in their previous meeting back in February of 2018, losing 49-34. Can Yellville-Summit avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
