It was a good run, but Santiam unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They received a blow as they fell 47-33 to the Salem Academy Crusaders. While losing is never fun, the Wolverines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while the Crusaders are ranked 33rd).

Santiam's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Salem Academy, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 18-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Santiam will take on Delphian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Salem Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Gervais at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Gervais: they have been struggling with seven straight losses at home, while Salem Academy has snatched up five consecutive wins on the road.
