Basketball Recap: Iroquois/Lake Preston Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Iroquois/Lake Preston, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They skirted past the Sunshine Bible Academy Crusaders 54-51. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 50-20 back in January.

Sunshine Bible Academy lost on Thursday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Breanna Thieman, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals. Ciera Mickelson was another key player, going 8-for-13 en route to 17 points and seven boards.

Iroquois/Lake Preston's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-13. As for Sunshine Bible Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.

Looking ahead, Iroquois/Lake Preston will square off against Colman-Egan at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Colman-Egan will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something Iroquois/Lake Preston surely won't give up without a fight. As for Sunshine Bible Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 68-42 loss against Ipswich on the 14th.
