Volleyball Recap: Lucas Soeldner and Evahn Gritsyna Secure Win for the Vanguard School

The Vanguard School waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Atlas Preparatory School Gryphons by a score of 2-0.

The Vanguard School was led to victory by Evahn Gritsyna and Lucas Soeldner. Gritsyna had five aces, while Soeldner had five aces and two blocks. Those five aces gave Gritsyna a new career-high. Isaiah Figueroa also deserves some recognition as he had his first kill of the season.

They weren't the only good server: The Vanguard School was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 22 aces. They are a perfect 3-0 when they serve at least ten aces.

The Vanguard School's victory bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Atlas Preparatory School, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Coming up, The Vanguard School will take on Discovery Canyon at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Atlas Preparatory School has already played their next contest (against James Irwin), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
