Baseball Recap: Gladewater Wins Going Away Against Arp

Gladewater barely beat Arp the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bears blew past the Tigers 13-2 on Tuesday. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

Sean Burke was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Preston Bohanon was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Luke Brown, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Gladewater's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-9. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Arp, they moved to 8-13-1 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Gladewater will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
