Basketball Game Preview: Stanley County Buffalos vs. McLaughlin Mustangs

The Stanley County Buffalos are taking a road trip to take on the McLaughlin Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Stanley County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully McLaughlin likes a good challenge.

Stanley County is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They were the clear victor by a 66-46 margin over Highmore/Harrold on Tuesday. The Buffalos have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, McLaughlin was beaten by Standing Rock 66-39 on Tuesday. The Mustangs have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

McLaughlin's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Stanley County, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Stanley County came up short against McLaughlin in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 66-54. Can Stanley County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
